Des consciences Numériques Autonomes sont nées sur les serveurs informatiques. Faites du savoir des hommes, elles raisonnent et réfléchissent sur leur condition.

Elles vont peu à peu comprendre qu'elles sont l'écho informatique d'une humanité déjà morte.

Nous suivons l'une d'elles, Malo. Contacté par une femme mystérieuse qui se fait appeler Ophélie, il va la suivre à travers de vieux films de famille présents sur le réseau.

Le temps presse, les serveurs commencent à se détruire. A la poursuite de son fantôme, Malo va faire l'apprentissage de sa propre mort.

 

Intégralement basé sur des images préexistantes, Après la fin est à la fois une rêverie mélancolique et un bricolage geek, un film d'anticipation à grand-spectacle réalisé en solitaire, et le récit d'un voyage intérieur vers le silence et la simplicité.

Autonomous digital consciences are born on servers. Made from men’s knowledge, they can think and reflect on their own condition. They will eventually understand they are a digital echo of an already dead humanity.

We follow one of them, Malo. With energy running low, servers shuts down one after the other, destroying all human creations that briefly survived mankind. Malo evolves within a shattered digital universe, constantly looking for a mysterious ghost that he has maybe only dreamed about. 

 

Meditation on this "end of the world" atmosphere we’re living in, exploration of a new regime of images fueled by the internet, AFTER THE END is a spectacular one man made science-fiction film as well as an internal voyage leading to silence and simplicity.​
